Next DFDL Meeting will be on Monday 6th February at Strathclyde Homes Stadium, Dumbarton. The Children's meeting will commence at 6.45pm and the Youth's meeting will commence at 7.30pm.

Should you be unable to attend please send your written apologies to your age group coordinator or the Minutes Secretary at Jess.McDonald@glasgow.ac.uk.

The February Children's Meeting will conclude the registration for the Spring session of the 2012 season.

The committee are please to welcome Euan Birss as President of the DFDL following his succesful election at the September 2011 Extraordinary General Meeting. Euan rejoins the committee after having previously been the DFDL Treasurer in 2009.

Following on from the recent changes to the DFDL Constitution in June 2011, all DFDL registered team personnel must wear the DFDL Hi Viz Jacket. All individuals failing to wear the Coaches Jacket will be fined £20 as per new Constitution.

Additional Yellow Jackets have been ordered and are now available. If you need one, you can pick it up at the next DFDL Meeting. Email a.l.bateman@talktalk.net to reserve your jacket.

This year's DFDL Cup Finals were held at Strathclyde Homes Stadium, home of Dumbarton FC. A huge thanks to Gilbert Lawrie and Jim Chapman for supporting our league by hosting the finals for the third year in a row.

The DFDL League Cup Draws were made at the January meeting. They can be viewed at the drop down banner headed Competition (Select Cup/Competition) directly above the blue link bar on this page. Prelim ties to be played on the 12th February with the First Round on the 3rd/4th March.

Friendly Procedure

Procedure for obtaining permission to play a friendly:
  • If it's another DFDL team - email the DFDL Match Secretary and request permission (cost - nil)
  • If it's another SYFA team - email both the DFDL Match Secretary and the SYFA Central Region Secretary and request permission. Include both teams SYFA ID number (cost - nil (SYFA Central Region have waived the £2 fee))
  • If it's against a non SYFA team - permission needs to be through the SYFA Registration website and costs £10
When seeking permission include both teams names, age group, proposed date, venue and kick off time.

PVG - Waiting List (Updated 16-01-12)

DFDL aim to hold registration evenings for all individuals who have not yet been Disclosure Scotland checked by the SYFA. Could you please email me (carolinelavelle@virginmedia.com) with the individual's name, address and date of birth together with your club details (including the age group) of those wishing to attend. Note that all individuals who intend to attend the forthcoming sessions need to be a registered official with the SYFA.

 
Once we have an idea of numbers involved, we will set the dates of the registration evenings and advise you of these by email as well as listing them on the DFDL website. (www.ddl.leaguerepublic.com).
 
Note that registration of individuals who have been Disclosure Scotland checked by the SYFA will commence from 01.01.2012 - further details of this will follow nearer the time.

Fees for coaches/First Aiders from Member clubs is £10 per delegate with DFDL contributing the remainder of the cost (£15).

West Dunbartonshire Football Development team has organised football training sessions on Wednesday evenings from 26 October to 14 December at the Alexandria Community Centre for females aged 14 and older.

Goalkeepers Coaching Sessions

Goal keeping 8 - 16years

The goalkeeping sessions are designed to improves goalkeeper?s basic techniques such as handling, positioning, movement and shape, crossing distribution and dealing with the pass back.

Monday nights at OLSP High School:

7.00 - 7.50pm for ages 8 to 11 and from 8.00 - 8.50pm for ages 12 - 16.

Costs:

Block 1 (7 weeks) - 29 Aug to 24 Oct - £16.50

SYFA COERVER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

 

COERVER® COACHING IS:

 

A football skills teaching method suited for all ages but especially for players aged 5-16 years old of all abilities and their parents, coaches and teachers. Coerver is a teaching method that focuses on individual skills development and small group play. Coerver is endorsed and recommended by the top federations, associations, legends/experts of the game, club teams and corporations including: French Football Federation, Football Federation of Australia, Chinese Football Association, Japanese Football Association, Bayern Munich FC, Newcastle United FC and Arsenal FC.

 

The ultimate goal of the Coerver® Coaching Method is to develop skilled, confident and creative players, make the game fun to practice and play, teach good sportsmanship and respect for all, value winning but not more than character and performance and to provide a safe & educational experience that meets best practice criteria.

Coerver and SYFA have agreed a series of 10 workshops covering the 10 Performance Modules.

Each workshop will last 2 hours and will include 40 minutes of theory.

The workshops will be delivered by Gordon Craig, Head of Coerver Scotland and Portugal.
